    Cancellation Policy

    As the Industry Leader in customer service we provide you with the flexibility to change your travel plans – with the assurance that you’ll have options to re-book when it suits you. With the 4 Day and 2 Inca Trails we are able to refund or change dates only with 90 days advanced notice when and only if your permit has not yet been reserved.

    The 4 and 2 Day Inca Trails require hiking permits that we purchase and reserve via the Ministry of Culture in Cusco, they regulate the trek and do not allow for refunds once a permit is booked.

    Please be 100% sure of your travel date before purchasing or let us know that dates are tentative and we won’t purchase your permits until we receive your confirmation.

    Day 1

    The 2 Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the perfect adventure for those short on time but eager to experience the magic of the Inca Trail. This Short Inca Trail trek offers all the highlights of the classic route in a condensed, action-packed journey.

    Your adventure begins with a transfer from your hotel to KM104, where you’ll cross the Vilcanota (Urubamba) River and set foot on an ancient Inca highway. As you ascend through the lush cloud forest, you’ll encounter vibrant flora and fauna, including exotic orchids and colorful bird species. This stunning landscape sets the stage for your arrival at Wiñay Wayna, a breathtaking ceremonial site crafted from intricately carved stones, showcasing the incredible skill of the Inca civilization.

    From Wiñay Wayna, the trail leads you to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you’ll be rewarded with your first unforgettable view of Machu Picchu. As you walk the final stretch of the royal Inca highway, the legendary citadel emerges before you, a marvel hidden for centuries beneath the forest canopy.

    End the day with a scenic bus ride to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you’ll relax and recharge at your chosen hostel or hotel, ready to explore the iconic ruins in depth the following day.

    Day 2

    Rise early to maximize your time at the legendary Machu Picchu citadel, a highlight of your 2 Day Inca Trail adventure. Begin the day with a 3-hour guided tour, where your expert guide will reveal the history, mysteries, and architectural wonders of this iconic site. Wander through its sacred temples, ceremonial spaces, and breathtaking terraces while soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery of the Andes.

    After the tour, enjoy free time to explore the citadel at your own pace. For an even more thrilling experience, you can add a hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (optional, additional cost). These trails offer unparalleled panoramic views of the citadel and the surrounding valleys, providing the perfect way to cap off your visit.

    In the afternoon, descend to the train station in Aguas Calientes, where you’ll board your PeruRail train back to Cusco. Your return journey departs at 6:20 PM, with an alternate departure at 9:50 PM, subject to availability.     We very much enjoyed this trek to Machu Picchu. Me and my bf are not big hikers but also did not just want to take the train to Aguas Calientes. The 2 Day Inca trail fit our schedule and budget and we recommend the tour. The guides were great and the trek was easy to book.     Had a great time on this trek with my family, my only complaint was that the trek comes with economy lodging, i would have rather booked a more expensive hotel but was not made aware of it until last minute. Mostly my fault but apart from that the hike was great as were our guide Carlos, booking was easy and always got quick responses to questions. Thanks for everything.

    This is a great trek for light hikers, we had a great time and it wasn’t as challenging as I thought it would be. Yes it was tiring but the first days hike gave us a work out and day 2 we were at Machu Picchu which is very beautiful. I regret not getting another admission and spending more time there but I will be back someday for sure.
