We begin your journey by picking you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. As we head west, the scenery transforms dramatically just 13 kilometers outside of town. Our destination: the surreal Moon Valley, part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve.
The adventure starts with a walk through this natural sanctuary, known for its breathtaking rock formations sculpted over millennia by the relentless desert winds. These mineral and sand formations rise up like frozen waves, with notable landmarks such as the Tres Marías, the Amphitheater, and jagged cliffs that tell ancient geological tales.

Located in the Salt Mountain Range and bordering the Atacama Salt Flat, Moon Valley sits at an altitude of 2,550 meters above sea level, offering a unique perspective of the driest desert in the world. As your guide reveals fascinating facts about the valley’s origins and its status as one of Earth’s most Mars-like terrains, you’ll have plenty of opportunities for unforgettable photographs.
As the day winds down, we make our way to the Kari Viewpoint (Mirador de Kari). Here, we’ll witness one of the most mesmerizing sunsets in Chile. Watch the desert landscape shift from gold to soft hues of pink, lavender, and deep violet, as you enjoy a complimentary cocktail under the vast Atacama sky.
With your heart and camera full, we conclude the tour and return you comfortably to your hotel.
