The Humantay Lagoon Tour begins very early in the morning with hotel pickup between 4:30 and 4:50 AM, allowing us to make the most of the day and enjoy the lagoon during the best hours for weather and scenery.
After leaving Cusco, we travel for approximately 2.5 hours through the Andean highlands toward the town of Mollepata, a traditional village surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, we enjoy a nutritious buffet breakfast, perfect for preparing our bodies for the hike ahead.

Following breakfast, we continue our journey by vehicle to Soraypampa, the starting point of the hike. Soraypampa is located at 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) above sea level, surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks, including the majestic Salkantay Mountain.
From Soraypampa, we begin a guided hike of approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, ascending gradually to reach Humantay Lagoon, located at 4,200 meters (13,779 feet). Along the trail, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Andean landscape, observe local flora and fauna, and feel the powerful energy of the mountains.
Upon arrival at Humantay Lagoon, you will be rewarded with one of the most stunning natural sights in the Cusco region. The lagoon’s intense turquoise waters, fed by glacial melt, contrast dramatically with the surrounding snow-capped peaks, creating a truly unforgettable panorama. Since Inca times, this lagoon has been considered sacred and revered by Andean communities.

Here, you will have ample free time to relax, take photos, admire the scenery, and listen to your guide’s explanations about the cultural and spiritual importance of the lagoon.
After enjoying this magical place, we descend along the same path back to Soraypampa, where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Mollepata. In Mollepata, we enjoy a buffet lunch, allowing you to rest and recharge after the hike.
In the afternoon, we begin our return journey to Cusco, arriving at your hotel at approximately 6:30 PM, bringing an unforgettable day of nature, adventure, and Andean spirituality to an end.
