Join us for an exciting Cusco City Tour that explores the awe-inspiring Incan heritage of Cusco, Peru. Your adventure will begin with a pick-up from your hotel lobby, where our friendly and knowledgeable guide will greet you and take you on a fascinating journey through history.
You will be transported in our private vehicle to the heart of the ancient Incan empire, where you will discover the impressive Temple of the Sun, also known as Q’oricancha or Koricancha. Marvel at the stunning architecture and observe the smaller temples within the temple, dedicated to the moon, rainbow, stars, lightning, and thunder. Compare and contrast the building methods of the Incan culture and Catholicism, and learn how Q’oricancha was the spiritual center of the Incas.
If you choose to include a visit to the Cathedral with your Cusco city tour you will have a specialized guide which will give you a chance to visit the Cathedral, home to over 300 paintings from the colonial era. The Cathedral is a work of art itself, the interior being home to hundreds of gold and silver works of art.
Next, we’ll drive out of the city for 25 minutes to visit the stunning Sacsayhuaman archaeological site. This mysterious site is famous for its 200-ton monoliths and enigmatic stones. Although considered religious, the Spanish colonizers saw it as a military fortress because of its strategic location and construction. Explore the site at your own pace and take in the breathtaking views.
Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to other archeological sites in the area. Explore the fascinating Inca site of Q’enqo, featuring natural rock formations, complex patterns of steps and seats, and a puma design that represents Andean constellations and the three worlds of the Incas. We’ll then visit the small but circular Puca Pucara, once a shelter for travelers and a military center protecting the nearby Tambomachay temple, known as the Temple of Water. Discover the impressive water fountains used by the Incas for bathing, and learn about their religious practices tied to water.
At the end of the tour, we’ll return you to your hotel, where you can reflect on the rich cultural heritage of Cusco and the ancient Inca civilization that once thrived here. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience, book your Cusco Half Day Tour today!
