We start our trip to the Chalalan Ecolodge inside the Madidi Park, it will be a 51/2 hour boat trip at the Beni and Tuichi rivers while you enjoy wonderful landscapes of the jungle like the Bala Gorge and maybe if you are lucky to see some animals, maybe some birds or reptiles. At your arrival to the Chalalan port, we begin a 25-minute walk through a trail to the place where the lodge is located.
In the afternoon we will make a show hike in one of the trails where the guide will show you the tropical rain forest and how and the traditional use of its resources. On the road back on the boat you will have the chance to see some monkeys and birds.
After dinner we will have a hike to see the night life of the animals, especially night insects, spiders and some reptiles and amphibians.

After breakfast, we begin a 3 to 4 hours guided hike, where the guide will help us understand the ecologic processes that happen in the rainforest, while you have the chance to see some birds and mammals while we get amazed by this breathtaking peaceful natural place. In the afternoon, we will go to the viewpoint to admire the beautiful landscape of the Chalalan Lake and the magnificent primary rainforest of the Madidi National Park, while you learn something about this park’s and the project’s history.
We will have a night boat trip, to see the caiman’s eye sparkle under the moonlight and some other night animals. We end this day with a traditional (Quechua – Tacana) night, where we will experience the indigenous Uchupiamonas customs and rituals, together with local music and dances.

After breakfast, we will walk to the port to take the boat back to Rurrenabaque. On the way, you should keep your eyes open to see some animals in the riverside. This trip back takes only 4 hours.
