Caral Civilization Itinerary

Full Day

6:30 a.m. – Departure from Lima:
We will pick you up promptly from your accommodation in Lima. Together with our expert guide and professional driver, you will begin your journey north to the Sacred City of Caral. The trip takes approximately 4 hours, allowing you to admire the landscapes of the Peruvian coast and learn about the region’s history as we travel by road.

8:30 a.m. – Rest Stop:
On the way, we will make a brief stop so you can purchase breakfast or snacks, use the restroom, and stretch your legs. This stop is optional, and personal expenses are not included.

10:30 a.m. – Arrival in Caral:
Welcome to Caral! Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient city was developed at the same time as Egypt and Mesopotamia and is considered the oldest civilization in the Americas.

Here we will begin our guided exploration, where you will discover:

The majestic pyramids of Caral, built on stepped platforms of stone and earth.

Caral Civilization

The sunken circular plazas, used for religious and social ceremonies.

The hydraulic canals and communal dwellings, which demonstrate an advanced level of urban planning.

Our guide will explain how Caral was a peaceful society with no evidence of weapons, organized around trade, religion, and astronomy. You will be able to appreciate artifacts such as the quipu, a knotted record-keeping system, and musical instruments made of bone, used in sacred rituals.

1:00 p.m. – End of the tour: After this cultural and historical immersion, we will say goodbye to the archaeological complex and begin our return journey to Lima.

2:00 p.m. – Lunch at a traditional restaurant: En route, we will stop at a local restaurant to enjoy lunch featuring regional dishes (not included). Our guide will help you choose the best options. The typical menu costs approximately S/.35 soles.

6:30 p.m. – Arrival in Lima: We will return to your accommodation after an unforgettable day exploring the origins of civilization in the Americas.
